March Madness and April Antics
Been a few weeks since I last updated this blog, forgive me I have been very busy. Let’s catch you up to speed.
DP’d car test shots in preparation for a short film I’m shooting this summer. Glenn Maxwell will be directing this. Shot with my BMPCC 6k Pro
DP’d a corpo series of interviews and broll in association with FBM and Lemonlight. Thankful to have Adrian Carroll. Shot with my BMPCC 6k Pro
Got an impromptu call to camera operate with my good pals at Comedy For The Internet. This was for a documentary they’re making regarding Dallas Indie Comedy Festival. So many good groups and many laughs had. Shot with FX3 and Gmasters.
DP’d an interview to promote Natalie Tran and her upcoming short film. Shot on FX9s and Gmasters. Thanks to Ron Bellamy for directing and putting this together.
Camera Operated for Comedy For the Internet boys again. This time a separate Doc following a now closed bar in Dallas. This shoot is ongoing. I worked with FX3 and Gmasters. My BMPCC 6k Pro served as ultrawide angle. Huge thanks to Danny and Roger for bringing me on.
Gaffed for Travis Gallagher for Roland. This was originally just going to be me showing off a studio space but turned into me running lighting dept for them. Shoot went great.
First AC’d for Harvest Creative Touchstone Energy spot. Great working with these guys. Learned quite a bit from DP Hayden Acker. This spot was shot with Alexa 35 and Elite glass. I worked with the DJI LiDar system and focus hand unit.
Whole slurry of BTS unorganized:
That wraps up some of my notable projects during this two month period. We’re now in May and that will have its own wrap up at the end of the month. If I have long periods between entries here that means I’m happily busy working.
Keep it real homies. See you in June.
Dallas Dallas Dallas
The past few weeks I have been in and out of the DFW metroplex for a bunch of projects. Let’s try and summarize them together.
I worked as First AC for Fortunate Studios/Guidestone (referenced in the post below). Pulling focus on Nucleus-M and assisting two camera ops on Sony FX9 and Sigma Cineprimes.
Afterwards I worked with film for the first time professionally as a Second AC for Truitt Glover’s upcoming film Weep For Me. This was a blast where I got to work with skilled crew and wonderful talent. Camera was ARRI SR3 with Zeiss Super 16 Super Speeds.
Later in this month I’ve worked as First AC again with Fortunate Studios pulling focus on Nucleus-M2. Camera was Sony FX9 with Canon V35s.
I was able to stop by Jyra Studios and film a little spec shoot with my good friend Christian Taliaferro and Jackson Carwile. My position was pretty fluid but I’d put it as 2nd AC / Gaffer. Camera was ARRI Alexa 35 with Tokina Vista Primes.
This ends my trapise through Dallas the last few weeks. I’ll round this month out with some Austin work.
Fortunate Studios and Guidestone
Recently I had the pleasure of working as First AC for a three day Broll stock shoot up in Dallas for Fortunate Studios and Guidestone. We worked with two FX9 bodies and MP&E’s Full Frame Sigma Cine Primes. I pulled focus with Tilta’s Nucleus-M. All around a good shoot with a good crew.
BTS taken when I can. Huge thanks to Andre Harrell for the gig and trusting me to keep his camera department on task while he DPs. Also want to give props to my operators Bucky Bryant and Kelvin Fernandez for nailing their roles. Additionally want to shout out Ben Vallance for having my back through the shoot as on again off again operator and Camera PA.
